Thank you Sam. The timing for such an experiment feels much better than it did even five years ago (never mind ten, when we first started down this road). There’s way more traffic on social media, more project stories, educational efforts of various stripes, books, etc. So there’s interest, and the ingredients of the “community” part. The “practice” part is fragmented, which I suppose is one of the things a “community of practice” could help with.

We’ve felt uncertain how to gather around emergent / participatory / probing / dialogic / systemically inclusive / co-creative / stretch collaboration ideas in our own area. I’d love to try some local experiments this year. In person.

Meanwhile, we need each other. A couple of years ago we had listening interviews with a number of people who are somehow working at the coal face of social pattern-shifting, and that certainly came up as a theme. The “practice” part can feel isolating.

I’m game to bat ideas around. I don’t have one ready to offer. Maybe some kind of three- or four-session conversation series with representation from different parts of this archipelago of practice?
